Bradford Trident Business Forum 7th November at Omar Khan’s

The Bradford Trident and Grid Business Forum was one to see, there was delicious food (mmmmm) lots of people to meet and an excellent presentation by Mark Lawn. A range of businesses attended the event from Marketing to Training /Management Companies and pre-starts.  Grid members had such as good time that they cannot wait for the next event

Mark (Joint Chairman of Bradford City Football Club) talked about the importance of networking and teamwork in starting up a business. He also gave Grid members an insight into his personal journey on the road to success, highlighting some of the opportunities and challenges he faced along the way. Our members found his talk interesting, enlightening and inspiring!

EVENT: BRADFORD DISTRICT FAITHS FORUM

Bradford District Faiths Forum supported by Manningham and Girlington Youth Partnership is hosting an event on Wednesday 12th November 2008 from 6.30pm at Carlisle Business Centre (60 Carlisle Road , Bradford BD8 8BD).

The event is aimed at raising awareness of the different faith communities in Bradford, also to increase understanding between and exposure to the different faith communities and will provide an opportunity for different faith communities to interact who would not otherwise have the opportunity.

The event will be based around artistic performances from the Faiths of Bradford.

Indoor Art Sales Opportunities – ‘artsmix* @ The Loft’


New for 2008 is our fabulous new home ‘The Loft Leeds’ where we will be holding weekly indoors markets. This landmark New York loft style building situated in the heart of the city, close to The Parish Church, offers a range of possibilities. It boasts 10,000 sq ft of individual exhibition/trading space over two floors, with bars and an art themed restaurant. We are billing this as Leeds’ alternative Sunday Shopping Experience and it will stay true to our core values of selling only original work with the focus on supporting emerging local talent.

artsmix* @ The Loft will offer in the region of 60 stalls, selling a wider range of products including, original fine art, hand crafted jewellery, crafts, design and photography.

Please be sure to book your pitch early, as interest is high and as a result of our recent launch events and other marketing activities we are attracting a whole range of new artists/members, particularly for our art gallery.

The first artsmix* @ The Loft market will take place on Sunday 26 October – doors will open at 11.00am. This is set to be a great launch event, attracting a wide range of artists and visitors, hopefully including the press. After this launch event the market will then go weekly (every Sunday) as from 23 November.

Outdoor Arts and Crafts Markets

We will continue to offer a range of outdoor opportunities for artists and crafts people and will build on our current contacts and experience that this year has seen us at Chancellor’s Court and Pudsey as well as enhancing other showcase events such as Leeds Pride and The Brewery Wharf Festival.

We are currently in talks with a variety of people, which should see a large and varied programme of outdoor market activity in 2009, both within and outside the Leeds boundaries – in fact there is a strong possibility 2009 will see us embarking on our first market outside Yorkshire and we may soon be exporting artsmix* over The Pennines.

Our next outdoor market will be held at Pudsey Market Place on Sunday 7th December 12.00–17.00

We are also partners in the Thackray Museum's Christmas Fair on Saturday 22nd November and are looking for traders for this exciting opportunity too.

GRID West member Gary Blonder, a fully qualified hypnotherapist, Reiki practitioner and stress-counsellor, has launched the FREE MONDAY DROP-IN.

Between 2pm and 5pm


 Any GRID member can turn up without an appointment at GRID west and receive free short "taster" sessions of Reiki or Hypnotherapy, (£5 non-members) either simply to have the experience or to see if either of these therapies are right for your problem. Gary also leads a free meditation class every Tuesday at 11am.

Gary's day for full private consultations is on Tuesdays at GRID West by appointment.
