Kickstart
Bradford Kickstart
Bradford Kickstart is a ten year programme funded by the Governments under the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI), a ten year programme to encourage and support business growth in Bradford.
Bradford Kickstart is Bradford Council's flagship programme to promote and support enterprise and business growth across the Bradford District by delivering programmes within the three main themes which are aligned to the Council’s Economic Strategy:
•People
•Business
•Place
There are a number of essential cross cutting linkages across the themes in particular connected to community cohesion and wider social participation by local businesses.
The main objectives of the programme continue to be:
•Encourage people living and working in the Bradford District to be more entrepreneurial.
•Generate wealth in the District’s communities with an emphasis on the worst 20% of the Super Output Areas which equates to 53% of the district.
•Create jobs.
•Capitalise on emerging investment opportunities across the district.
Since its start from April 2006 LEGI has assisted in the formation of more than a 1000 people across the Bradford District to start up in business and have assisted in the creation of more than 3500 jobs.
The Bradford GRID* projects have been funded by Kickstart with the aim to stimulate enterprise and business activity, encouraging and supporting business start-ups and the growth of existing businesses.
